NoBAWC is dedicated to helping build the worker cooperative movement in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. To realize this, we:
1)Facilitate peer-to-peer support among members by sharing knowledge via workshops by members and for members; roundtable discussions on relevant topics; shared costs on professional presentations; joint marketing and promotional services; development of group benefits; improvement of access to financial resources; strengthening ties between worker cooperatives; and developing relationships with other segments of the cooperative/labor community.
2)Promote worker cooperatives in our community. This includes developing community awareness of worker cooperatives as sources of meaningful employment, providers of quality goods and services and viable alternatives to conventionally owned and managed businesses; ensuring that local worker-owners have a voice in the policy advocacy work being done in the area; fielding questions from press and general public.
