The University of California at San Francisco has Samuel Hahnemann’s copy of his book “Organon der Heilkunst.” Because of broad interest in the book, it was decided to put it on the internet. The book is the fifth edition, published in 1833, and contains his handwritten notes for the sixth edition. However, the sixth edition was not published for 60 years after his death.
The Organon established homeopathy as a medical practice. The sixth edition (published in 1921) made some remarkable changes. Hahnemann’s edited copy of the fifth edition was bought by two homeopaths in San Francisco in 1920. Most of Hahnemann’s papers are in the Robert Bosch Institute for the History of Medicine in Stuttgart, Germany.
This is intended to be the beginning of a digital archive on publications important in homeopathy.
