This study represents a new clinical trial of high dose antioxidants and zinc for age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. Highlighted here is the effect of zinc with two carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin, included in the formula, along with Beta carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E. Copper was added to prevent zinc induced copper deficiency.
This is an ongoing study and results will be coming out in 2005 and 2006.
